FROM THE PASTOR
A new year, new
opportunities, new challenges-2008-there will never be another like it.
One constant is, God will be present by His Spirit and by the printed word
throughout the year.
We have ample reasons to believe that God's presence and God's
power will enable us to accomplish those tasks that He gives to us in
fulfilling His purposes. Attempting such important roles without being
confident that God is present to help will lead to frustration,
disappointment and failure.
Take heart, fellow-workers; experience the joy of being
fellow-workers with God. After giving his disciples what is often referred
to as the Great Commission he told them, "and surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). Experience the joy of serving
God throughout 2008. You will be blessed beyond measure.
George

THANK
YOU
The Property committee would like to thank everyone
who helped take down the Christmas decorations. It was an enjoyable
evening of working, fellowship, yummy snacks, playing Mexican Train, and
welcoming in 2008.
Thanks to Anita and everyone who participated in the Avenues to Advent
skits. They were very meaningful.
Dear Church Family,
Thank you so very, very much for the generous Christmas gift. My
church family is very special to me. On January 23, 2005 I began this
second career and it has been a blessing from God. Thank you all for your
love and support. Dee
Church Growth would like to thank the congregation for generously
supporting all of our Causes during 2007. There will be no Cause this
month, but next week please join us after church for some great cookies and
lemonade.
Thanks again for all your help. Church Growth
Dear Church Family,
Thank you for the Christmas gift and the words of support and
encouragement. I love my job and I'm so thankful for the chance to serve
our church in this way. Many blessings to each of you, Machaelle

FROM THE
MAILBOX
Dear friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to offer you my most
sincere gratitude for your gift of $500.00 to once again help fund my
education in ministry. The costs of classes are naturally high; however
the benefits of a solid Christian education far outweigh the costs of
classes.
I will never forget the many ways you have helped and encouraged
me through the years. Debbie and the boys also appreciate your
thoughtfulness throughout the years and consider it a joy to reconnect with
you whenever we are able.
I will be completing my classes this coming spring and hope to
graduate in May from Friends University with a Masters of Christian
Ministry (MACM) degree. We will be in touch as we draw nearer to that
date, as we want to share that day of celebration with all of you who have
so faithfully supported me in achieving this goal.
Thanks again for your most generous gift.
Your friend in Christ,
Greg Hamlin

FROM THE E-MAIL
FILE
Excerpt from an e-mail that we received from Amanda
Reust.
Davin had taken his LSAT before we came to Mali. He received some fee
waivers from law schools and we are still struggling here quite a bit,
wondering if this is the right thing for us, so he applied to several
schools. (He has already heard from the University of Michigan and was
accepted.) He spent time over Halloween working on that. It is a
possibility that we may come home, but we are giving Mali time and making
sure that we will make the decision that is best for us; whether we should
stay or go home. And I am not seeking advice here, I just want to give
everyone a heads up that Mali may not be the best place for us right now
and we may not complete our entire Peace Corps service. (So if you are
planning on sending a care package, you may hold off until you hear what
our decision is.)
Please keep Amanda and Davin in your prayers as they
make their decision about Mali.

OUTREACH
COMMITTEE
The Outreach Committee is looking to expand its
membership this year. Some of the projects we'll be working on are fall
and spring clean-ups, the Haysville Fall Festival, and a youth evangelical
project called Project Unity. We are interested in new ideas and new
energy as we make a push this year to really reach out to the community.
If you are interested, please contact Angelie Vincent at 218-3294 or
