FROM THE PASTOR
What does that mean, "Promotion Sunday"? It has to
do with children and youth who move from one Sunday
School class into another Sunday School class. The classes are
determined by age or grade.
We "promote" at this time of the year in order to have the grade
consistent with the public schools. The age/grade categories, and the
teachers beginning September 7, are:
Pre-K-K; teachers: Angie Chadd and Peggy Chadd
Grades 1-3; teacher: Janice Church
Grades 4-5; teacher: Michelle Wegner
Middle School (6-8); teacher: Jesse Shetler
High School (9-12); teachers: Angelie and Brian Vincent
Adult Sunday School teachers are Seekers; Marsha Devan; Cornerstone;
Margo Walker
We had a great time at the Sunday School Pizza Party last Saturday
evening. Sunday School, for children, youth and adults, is a great
opportunity to learn more about God and His will for us as we study the
Bible and share with/learn from one another. It is also a great
opportunity to develop friendships with others in church.

THANK YOU
It's a gift more valuable than gold and more
beautiful than a rose. For riches will leave you empty and the most
beautiful of roses will wither and die. But friendships bring true meaning
to life. Thank you, dear friends, for making my 70th birthday one that I
will always remember.
My love to all, Anita

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Time is running out! This Sunday, August 31st, is
the last day to sign up to reserve a plastic shoe box to use for this
year's Operation Christmas Child ministry. These boxes are being provided
free of charge and will make a wonderful secondary gift for the child who
receives it filled with other special items of your choosing.
There is a sign up sheet on the table in the back of the sanctuary.
Please keep in mind that a $7 S.H. donation is needed for every box that
you pack to send. These boxes will be available for you to pick up Sunday,
September 7th, following worship. You'll then have 3 months to shop for
items before bringing the filled boxes back to church on Thanksgiving
Sunday where they will be blessed before shipping out to needy children
across the globe.
