FROM THE
PASTOR
The holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, have created
life-long pleasant memories for me. The most significant part, aside from
the meaning of the holidays, has been the family being together. We have
always cared for each other. When you care for each other you anticipate
occasions that bring you together.
A big part of that for which we are thankful is relationships.
As Christians we are part of a larger family—the family of God. Again,
the joy comes from being together, being with people for whom we care and
who care for us.
I hope the holidays will be pleasant events for all who are
reading this article. I am aware that not all families enjoy being
together. Sometimes the problems have to do with unpleasant experiences
that resulted in broken relationships. If that is your situation,
regardless of who “deserves” most of the blame, why don’t you try to
make the relationship better. That could create memories for all to enjoy
the rest of their lives.
George

CITY OF HAYSVILLE VILLAGE
CHRISTMAS
The Haysville Historic District is planning the annual Village
Christmas event on December 6, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Activities
planned include: free pictures with Santa, free surrey rides, free craft
projects for kids, blacksmith demonstrations and a silent auction. The
Masonic Lodge will also be hosting a chili feed.
In order to make this celebration a success we are in need of
donations. I would like to take this time to ask you to donate items for
the auction and refreshments. The following are examples of items that
could be used for the auction: Christmas centerpieces, Christmas wreaths
and small Christmas trees (decorated). Proceeds from the silent auction
will be used for improvements to W.W. Hays Village Historical Park.
If you would like to make a donation, please call 529-5922.
