NOTE FROM THE INTERIM PASTOR
This being Monday, the first
real work day after Thanksgiving, I am reflecting on the delightful
Thanksgiving Dinner with my daughter Sharron, prepared for us by one of
her sergeants and his wife. The food was delicious and the company was
very enjoyable, with a football game on the television in the
background. At the same time I am looking ahead to the various
activities and responsibilities in my final two weeks of ministry with
you. It has been a great run here in Haysville, one that will not soon
be forgotten.
I have worked around computers for a number of years. I usually
considered my computer as a tool, something I worked with in my
business. I know there are many other uses for a computer, but I have
not necessarily taken the time to learn them. I figure I was doing well
just to know where the on and off switch was, and how to use the
programs that were important or necessary to my business and life.
My daughter Sharron decided I need to expand the use of my computer
in the social areas. She has taken great pride in developing a Facebook
account for me. She has done a great job in creating this page for me,
and adding some little tidbits from time to time. She even sent a
message to me yesterday asking about my sermon and what took place in
our worship service. I am aware there are a number of people in our
congregation who have a Facebook page. I do not know all of the ends
and outs of this program. I am trying to learn. I invite you to become
friends on Facebook. We have become friends over this past year, and
regardless where we go, we can still be friends.
Meanwhile, as we are all in the midst of transition, I would remind
you of this verse in Psalm 27:14: “Wait for the LORD; be strong and
take heart and wait for the LORD.”
